2021.12.01 03:35 FormalFistBump Taxis not taking cards - to you need to ask before getting in?
Flagged a taxi last night and when we reached the destination I went to pay by card on his Sum Up machine after he huffed when I said I don't have any cash. The transaction failed 3 times, I tried my Revolut which also failed. Definitely funds on both. I told him there was an ATM at the top of the road so we drove up to it. It turned out the ATM had been recently removed, so he drove down to the next one which was a minute or two by car but a good bit away by foot. At this point I felt this was on him because his machine was not functioning properly, so I asked him to turn off the meter and whether he is going to bring me back to my building afterwards, he kind of shrugged, I asked again and he said he'd bring me back.
I got cash out and as we were driving back I asked him again to turn off the meter which was still running. He pointed to it and said "Look it says Stopped" which it did, but it also kept increasing which I pointed out and said I'm only paying the amount it was when we first reached my building. He started complaining saying it wasn't fair on him, that I should have asked does he take card before I got in. I said that everyone assumes a taxi takes card nowadays, and the onus is on him to provide that. There was some back and forth (nothing shouty). He went to give me my change which I pointed out was short by a euro, and he gave me the missing euro.
I ended up giving the change to a homeless person, glad they got the extra euro instead of him. But are you supposed to ask before getting in whether the driver takes card?

2021.12.01 03:35 0ARXITEKTOR0 Walk in the morning.
In the morning the streets were covered with snow.
I don’t wear shoes until the beginning of winter.
It was about -1 degrees Celsius outside.
Walked for about 30 minutes. It was just fine.

2021.12.01 03:35 kawarazu [Review] I think Dungeon Encounters is the only RPG I've ever played where I felt awfully trapped.
I think in a lot of games, we-the-players always have the ability to turn the game from "hard game" into "power fantasy", reasonably quickly. The easiest answer in a common JRPG like this, is just grind-- powerlevel, and beat them with superior stats. Even in games that have a high skill component, frequently you just choose to choose a niche stat build to push your player advantage, and you can
In this game... well. No. Any monster who's damage exceeds your current gear, can (and likely will) kill one of your characters at least once. Pair that with the intense limited ability usage, and you have a recipe for a fairly consistent sense of tension and dread. As long as you're playing in Active ATB, suddenly even the monsters you can easily kill, become an intensely unreliable game, racing against your own inability to choose what the right option will be for the next character. Leveling up really doesn't enhance your chances of survival, prudently grabbing gear from town, backtracking carefully, is what can push you forward.
The way the game forces you to walk and traverse stages, feels purposeful and incredibly difficult, like as if there was a malicious god who had created the labyrinth, and in a really real way, there is! This is the only game that I feel like my characters when they die, rescuing them feels like more than a chore, there's genuine TENSION in tracking back there, because what killed my first team, can definitely end my second team as well.
This isn't written for the fans of this game-- it's not really written for subredditors. I wrote this for people on the fence, who are wondering what this game is all about. It's about choosing to give up control of the common tropes of the game, and experience something that puts you in a position of weakness, where the dungeon genuinely has the upper hand, and your own caution and patience is really the best cheat code. And yet, is caution really the best way to enjoy this game? Is being a coward really the most fun path?

2021.12.01 03:35 TheStevetree Mono-Coloured Partner Pairs?
Good people, what are your thoughts on Mono-Coloured Partner pairing?
So I know the strength of the partner mechanic is choose your own colour identity, but I'm interested in seeing if this is something I could have overlooked.
I already run Dargo/Jeska (mono-Red) and love it
All thoughts are welcome, especially if you have a decklist or can share a tale of your own deck building experience.
Thanks heaps, look forward to seeing what out there in the since or so since Commander Legends dropped

2021.12.01 03:35 Spidercupcakes I’m running out of patience
Since I was diagnosed with depression in 2018 I have been trying medications. In total I’ve tried 16 medications. I don’t want to try any more medications, the 16th medication I tried is Bupropion I’ve only been on it two and a half weeks, but I’m really losing hope. I’ve also been in therapy since 2018. I’m scared because me not trying any more medications means I’ve run out of things to try and I always thought that I’d kill myself when that happens. But I’ve been thinking a lot about the impact it would have lately and it’s too much. I live in New Zealand so their treatments aren’t that progressive and if they are they’re expensive.
I was wondering if anyone had anything to suggest, maybe something you’ve tried that worked for you?
I wasn’t really sure where to post this so if anyone has a subreddit suggestion that would be good too.

2021.12.01 03:35 tits_for_all How to answer the existential queries of a 4 year old?
My son is 4 1/2 years old and lately, he has started getting really curious about life and its origins. He is a big devotee of Sri Rama and knows Hanuman Chalisa by heart, and is a big fan of videos of Sri Rama on youtube - that's pretty much all he watches.
Now he has started asking me the BIG questions.
How was the world created?
Who created our Earth?
What was there before big bang? (Big bang is the theory I gave him)
Who created God?
Where did Brahma Ji come from? (on another occasion, I told him Brahma Ji created everything)
What is the best way to answer such questions in a manner that is compatible with our culture and traditions? I want to raise him within the framework of our values & knowledge and while I could easily make up 'silly' answers to the above questions that would be counterproductive to a child of his age.

2021.12.01 03:35 elPulpoBikes Is this stock rim tape tubeless ready?
As the title says, it's nbd and I'm turning the tires tubeless before a gravel grinder this weekend. I'm not sure if this tape is already tubeless ready or should I take it off and put new tape on them? Tires are tubeless compatible, but the tape doesn't mention anything about being TR. Manufacturer website doesn't mention anything either (Fulcrum Racing 900 wheels). I'll try emailing them but since I'm on a tight deadline I was hoping someone might be able to chime in

2021.12.01 03:35 YoureNotMom Tear Along The Dotted Line
I know this sub predominantly caters to bitching and to troubleshooting issues, but I wanted to share my thoughts on a miniseries I stumbled upon tonight.
Tear Along The Dotted Line caught my eye in the Adult Animated section cuz the first 8 seconds or so of the trailer was trying to be neither flashy nor funny. That, and the animation/art style was this pleasant mixture of detailed and simple. I didn't know what I wanted to watch, but I knew immediately that this was it; this show would cap off an otherwise incredibly productive day of rearranging furniture in my apartment!
Each episode is about 20 minutes of an Italian artist ranting and rambling in British English about your everyday idiosyncracies. I laughed so fucking hard at the climax of his bathroom argument in the first episode that I rewound and watched it 3 more times just to savor dude's mastery of vocabulary and logical progression.
You'll know if this series is for you after the first 20 minutes. It's relatable, fun, tells a beautiful tale, and the visuals are so unbelievably polished for the tv equivalent of an indie game. I hope my writing this plants a seed of "eh, I feel like someone said something good about it somewhere" next time you're scrolling through Netflix on an nondescript midweek night, and you give it a shot.
